Face Condition
Lipstick lines, otherwise known as smokers’ lines, appear as small vertical creases and wrinkles that run along the lips of older people, usually perpendicular to the border of the lip.
It tends to occur more in ladies than men (because of an absence of larger hair follicles). It looks unsightly when applying lipstick this can often settle in the wrinkles which accentuates the unattractive look.
Gravity, genetics, and notably smoking play an important role in forming lipstick lines, in conjunction with other changes around the lower face, such as Marionette lines leading to a sad, droopy appearance.
At Infinity Aesthetics, Dr Thomas carefully assesses the problem and proposes a treatment plan.
Treatment for lipstick lines can include careful application of fine fillers just underneath the skin or for more progressive volume loss to consider replacing with a deep dermal filler. This can be in conjunction with chemical peels and shortly Dr Thomas will be introducing laser treatment which can provide laser skin resurfacing in his Swansea aesthetic clinic.
