Recovery times can vary between patients, but we would generally recommend that you avoid intense physical activity for the first 24-48 hours following treatment to minimise swelling and bruising. We would also recommend that you avoid applying makeup to the treated area for around 12 hours after treatment, and avoid flying for 24-48 hours.
Dermal fillers for the forehead can last from 6-12 months. The results will be immediate, although it may take a few days for the full effect to be noticeable. Receiving follow up treatments every few months will develop a layered effect for the filler, making the results last longer.
Whilst any medical procedure can lead to side effects, the side effects of dermal filler injections tend to be limited to mild swelling and bruising at the site of injection. These symptoms should subside in 24-48 hours, and the chance of serious complications is seriously limited as hyaluronic acid (the substance used in forehead fillers) is a natural substance.
